Kotagiri is a beautiful Hills Station located in the Nilgiris Hills. About 33 kms southeast of Ooty. It is believed to have the world's second best climate. Kotagiri, called the second Switzerland due to it's best climatic conditions.It is well connected with Ooty,Coonoor,Mettupalayam by roads. The name Kotagiri means ‘mountains of the Kotas’ (the Nilgiri hills have been the traditional home of the Kota Tribe). Kotagiri offers plenty of opportunities for trekking and rock climbing. Besides trekking, there is not much to do in Kotagiri except take leisurely strolls through the tea plantations, watch the workers pluck tea leaves and soak in the cool climate of the region.
Itinerary (02 Days / 01 Night)
✔ 08:00 AM- Check in & allocating tents ✔ Refreshment for 30 minutes & exploring the camp-spot ✔ 09:00 AM - morning tea & breakfast ✔ 10:00 AM - Trek down the slip rock to the view point ✔ 11:00 AM - Ridge walk to the pond chilling the feet(4 kms from camp-spot) ✔ 12:00 PM - Cave hike & visit to tribe house ✔ 13:30 PM - Lunch served ✔14:30 PM - Visit to Catherine waterfalls to enjoy the bath at ice cold pure mountain water(06 kms). ✔ Tea factory visit ✔ 17:30 PM - SECRET TREK TO THE ROCK TO ENJOY THE BLISSFUL EVENING SUNSET BETWEEN THE MOUNTAINS TO END UP WITH THE TREK ✔ 18:30 PM- Return to base & Niligiri tea with snacks will be served ✔ 19:00 PM - Set up camp-fire ✔ 20:30 PM - Dinner ✔ 22:00 PM - Knocked off in the alpine tents

All participants registering for the trek should be trekkers! Participants should have minimum fitness, stamina and the ability to sustain harsh environments. We have experienced few picnic crowds registering for treks by mistake (Crowd which demands changing room, restroom, bedroom, shower, porters etc.) We request not to register if you are not OK carrying your own required items, which include: Your personal backpack, sleeping bags and common items like food, tents etc, if required. We expect every trekker to be respectful towards nature, local people / tribal. Camping and trekking are not a luxury event. Arrangements may be very basic; service providers do not/cannot provide luxury on such events. Accommodations are many times: Sleeping bags and Tents, Dormitories, room with no beds and sometimes just sleeping bags under the glittering sky. While utilizing campsite / trek route all trekkers must be responsible for cleaning the place (after and before using). Please avoid plastic
